Because Regular Mascara Wands Didn't Resemble *Literal* Torture Devices

We've already established that I'm a complete sucker for innovative mascara wands. I love mascara and I love gadgets and you put the two together and I cannot contain myself. I gotta have it. I don't usually go for drugstore mascaras, mainly because I can't try them out in the store, but then returning feels like a hassle and somehow it feels like there are too many options - although I'm sure Target's mascara options are comparable to Sephora's, it just feels overwhelming. But when I saw CoverGirl So Lashy! blastPRO Mascara* on an endcap in my Target store I was immediately intrigued. *Just like with my previous kooky mascara brush obsession, the name of this product is ridiculous.

The brush on the So Lashy! mascara looks like a queen's scepter. Or maybe a whisk with a mace on the end. It's bananas. The round end piece is called a "lash finder" and you use it to get those pesky little lashes in the corners that you can't reach with a regular mascara brush without using the end and getting a big gloopy mess of mascara all over your eyelid. Now you get to use a Medieval weapon to delicately brush mascara on your baby lashes, coating them in a light layer of mascara and giving yourself a full, fluttery look.

I'm glad they package these crazy brushes separately from the mascara tubes now, because I like to take a minute to inspect what innovation has brought about before I stick the brush in the mascara tube and make things a little harder to discern. This brush is so fascinating to me. I mean, there's just a LOT going on.

And even better that the novelty of using an alien torture device on your eyes, this mascara is actually awesome! I reach for it now more than my chichi Sephora mascara! I have blonde eyelashes, so really and mascara seems lengthening, so I can't really comment on that, but I can say that this mascara holds a curl better than any other I've tried. Like, I'm used to over curling my lashes because they immediately fall a bit when I apply mascara and with this one they're standing at attention for SO LONG and, well, it's a whole new world for me. It also layers well (I like to apply and apply... any apply my mascara) and doesn't clump up too badly (the mace on the end helps with this too). I tried taking some photos to show how nice it looks, and I realized why in every mascara commercial they're wearing fake eyelashes. I wish you could see how great this looks in real life! In any case, here's a photo of me wearing the mascara and no other eye makeup trickery. Plus, I made a little widget where you can shop all the makeup I'm wearing, just in case that's something you're interested in.
