Wear, Watch, Want #35: The Spicy Folding Priest Edition

Wear: BRÄDA Folding Laptop Support from Ikea

Once again, I'm bending the rules of what constitutes something I've been wearing. But for realsies, guys, this little laptop desk is on my person every single day. It's the best way to work on your laptop in bed or on the couch without burning your thighs and zeroing out your fertility. Basically, if I'm using my laptop, it's probably atop this little folding desk. It's become so essential to my life that I have one at my mom's house too, for when I go visit her and need to use my laptop comfortably. For $10, it's easy to justify having one of these little miracle workers at all of your usual haunts.

Watch: Grantchester

I have a habit of meaning to watch a TV show or movie that seems right up my alley, then putting it off indefinitely. When I finally get around to it, I'm all, 'I love this! Why did I have to go procrastinate when I could have had such lovely entertainment in my life?!" This happened a few months ago with Grantchester. I meant to watch it during its initial run, but just... didn't. Then I ended up greedily binge watching the entire first season on Amazon and counting the minutes until the premiere of the second season (which was, thank goodness, a few weeks ago).

Grantchester is honestly a show tailor made for a gal like me. The show is set in Cambridgeshire in the 1950s, and you know I love a period piece. You've got everyone's imaginary boyfriend James Norton playing Sidney Chambers, a vicar, who teams up with Geordie Keating, a detective (played by Robson Green) to solve seemingly endless murders. Sidney is haunted by memories of war, and pines over Amanda (Morven Christie), a wealthy friend who returns his feelings, but they can't be together and we all must watch them exchange meaningful glances and pine with them.

Want: Spice Rack

I've recently started cooking. I mean, I was capable of making food before, but it was along the lines of boiling pasta and putting some sauce on it and calling it a day. Now I'm one of these people that collects recipes and chops up vegetables and has various witches' brews simmering on her stove. This will be discussed later, but I have a kitchen that is not really suited for cooking. Calling it a galley kitchen would be very generous. I have an odd pantry that I've been shoving spices and odds and ends into as I collect things I've acquired on my cooking journey, and it's become kind of a mess. I need some kind of organization system. I say a spice rack, but I'm not sure if that's what I need at all. I need to do some assessing of my odd pantry. To give you an idea of how odd this space is, my pantry is about 9 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 7 feet tall. In other ridiculous news, the spice rack I've pictured here is beautiful, but costs $40 and that, frankly, boggles my mind. (I'm just easing my way out of eating grilled cheese 4 times a week, so maybe that's not insane? But to me it seems kind of bonkers.)
