My Bathroom is Even More Spa-Like With These Fancy Labels

When I moved into this house, it had a newly remodeled bathroom that I had put so much time and effort into, and it was gorgeous. Truly, for something i designed from hundreds of miles away, it’s amazing it turned out so well. But then it came to actually using it, and I knew I didn’t want to sully my gorgeous shower with half-empty bottles of Trader Joe’s shampoo. So I got a set of matching plastic amber bottles to store all my shower potions in. At first I wrote labels on them in a “waterproof” paint pen, which, over time, proved not to be as resilient as it claimed. Then I thought, “I’ll just print labels on my label maker and put those on!” But those labels are certainly NOT waterproof, and when I tried to seal them with packing tape it not only didn’t help - it made them look even worse. I had these bottles in my shower for over a year before I realized that someone, somewhere, was CERTAINLY creating labels for refillable shower bottles. So I went to Etsy and oh my god, there are thousands of them.

I decided on these vinyl labels from Church St Designs. I needed four labels: Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, and Face Wash. They told a pack of five at a discount, so I threw in a Hand Soap, but since that bottle is the only one on the sink, it doesn’t really need a label.

These labels had good reviews and they were the nicest looking (to me!) ones I could find on Etsy, but I really didn’t know if they’d work. After all, I had spent over a year re-writing labels myself. I wanted to give them the best chance though, so I wiped down each bottle with rubbing alcohol and then let them dry completely. Then I placed each label on really slowly, because I didn’t want any bubbles or folds to mess with the look, or the waterproof qualities. This was… probably unnecessary. The labels go on like a dream, and while your bottles should be clean and dry, I don’t know if an alcohol bath is strictly needed. BUT, those labels are not going ANYWHERE. They’re solidly attached, have not shown a single sign of breaking down after a few weeks of daily showers, and they look as if the bottles just came that way, and weren’t Frankenstein’d together in a fit of frustration.

Church St Designs sells all kinds of labels for just about any household item, and will make custom labels if your needs aren’t met by their stock. They also sell bottles with labels already attached, if you just want a one stop shop. My spa-like bathroom is still looking great, and now everyone in the shower knows what’s what, thanks to these gorgeous, actually waterproof, labels.
