Wear, Watch, Want #94: The Super Handsy Pigment Edition

Wear: Hand Helpers

I have inflammatory arthritis (and maybe a different kind? I’m getting an MRI next week! Who knows what we will find!) and my hands are particularly affected. Lately, my hands have been an absolute MESS. Swollen joints, trouble moving, pain. And top it all off, they’ve also been so dry they’re cracking and peeling. I’m horrible at remembering to put on hand cream, but I’ve been making a conscious effort to stay on top of my hand moisturizing regime, and my favorite product is The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector. It’s rich and works fast, plus the smell is not overpowering. Then, to aid my aching hands, I put on my arthritis compression gloves. I’ve talked about these before, but I really cannot express what a help they are. They’re basically just tight-ish gloves that still allow you to use your hands, but they offer some support and pain relief. They’re especially nice to sleep in.

Watch: The Umbrella Academy

I was not familiar with The Umbrella Academy comic before the Netflix show, but I have enjoyed the show so much, I’m now going to read the comic. That’s a pretty solid endorsement, but the thing I think will really convince you that I’m enjoying The Umbrella Academy is the fact that when I’m watching, I don’t look at my phone. Blah, Blah, we’re obsessed with screens, WHATEVER, but I usually look at my phone while I’m watching TV. IT’S FINE. Sometimes when I see a movie in the theater I think to myself, “Ah, this is the point where, if I were watching this at home, I would pull out my phone.” I’ve tried this multi-tasking while watching The Umbrella Academy and then I realize I’ve missed something and I REWIND and PUT DOWN the phone. This is the most ringing endorsement I can offer. Also, there are SO MANY good fake American accents. Another rare feat! Oh, and I looked up what the comic is like and found this image, which makes me want to read it even more.

Want: Milk Makeup Eye Pigments

I love Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow. It was one of the first things I wrote about on this site, and then I wrote about it again. But the tricky thing about this otherwise amazing eyeshadow is that it’s in a pot, and it tends to dry out. I have tried to salvage some pots of this fantastic product, but it’s hit and miss. When I saw that one of my new favorite brands, Milk Makeup, made a cream eyeshadow IN A TUBE, I knew I had to try it. Not only does this seem like a much more salvageable packaging style, but two of the colors are currently on sale, including one that looks like my favorite Color Tattoo color, Bad to the Bronze. I have ordered one to give it a try, and fingers crossed, it will be amazing.
