Come For the Sleep Mask, Stay For the Cool Applicator

This post is about a product I was generously gifted by Aveeno, but I was not compensated in any way for this review.

In Wear, Watch, Want #96 I mentioned how I like to go to sleep with a metric shit ton of moisturizer on my face. You could have also inferred this from my praise of Eucerin Healing Creme, which I’ve been obsessed with all winter, or my decades long love of Weleda Skin Food (one of the first posts on this site!). After reading my post about Aveeno MaxGlow Infusion Drops, Aveeno sent me a few more products to try out. One of them was their Positively Radiant MaxGlow No Mess Sleep Face Mask, which i was instantly interested in.

The sleep mask comes in a tube, which, as opposed to a tub, is always nice, but the real cool part about this is the applicator. It looks like a platypus beak, and you squeeze a little product out and then use this flat, soft, plastic tip to apply it on your face. Your hands stay clean and you can apply the mask exactly where you want.

There’s no rubbing in the product, you just swipe it on with the applicator and then leave it. The mask forms a kind of protective, moisturizing layer on your skin as it dries down. In the morning I have a few flakes of sleep mask, because, as previously mentioned, I like to over-apply my nighttime moisturizers. But once I washed my face my skin looked bright, moisturized, and ready for the day ahead.

This mask is a great option for anyone who wants a quick, easy way to give your skin a heavy dose of moisture overnight. It’s not as heavy-duty as my favorite overnight moisturizers, but I know once the weather warms up and my skin doesn’t need such hardcore solutions, I’m going to be reaching for this one all the time.
