Relief for Dry, Cracked Hands and Feet... AT NIGHT!

Over a year ago I wrote about O’Keeffe’s utilitarian, effective lotions. They don’t smell like a mojito or a cherry blossom forest or whatever scents you’re into, but they WORK. Now that a global pandemic has kept me from getting a mani/pedi for almost a year (at this point it would be less of a mani/pedi and more of a professional intervention), my hands and feet are in need of some no-nonsense treatment. I was using my regular O’Keeffe’s that I wrote about before, but then I found out they have a new line of products specifically for AT NIGHT.

Please take a moment to realize that since 2007 I have only been able to say “at night” like Kenneth Parcell when he’s attempting to flirt with Angie Jordan. (This is the episode [S2E2] with Werewolf Bar Mitzvah, which is rightly beloved, but steals the shine of this scene that comes right after it, which I have been referencing for over a decade.)

Target occasionally has sales where all beauty products are 25% off. It’s a great time to stock up on your favorites (I buy a ton of my favorite dry shampoo in these sales), but also to try new things. It was while I was looking for on-sale beauty to buy that I saw this gift set featuring O’Keeffe’s hand and foot lotions, but for overnight. I already use the regular O’Keeffe’s overnight, so having a product that was specifically formulated for how I was already living seemed too good to pass up.

At first glance, these night versions of Working Hands and Healthy Feet are very similar to the regular ones. The packaging is the same, but with a little banner across the front that says “night treatment.” But these are slightly (Very slightly! Faintly!) scented and they promise to make a noticeable difference in JUST ONE NIGHT.

The hype is real, I used both the hand and foot lotions and woke up with considerably improved paws. My feet still felt lotion-y in the morning, which was not something I was used to. I also maybe used too much - they tell you on all the lotions, day or night, to just use a little bit. I ignore this. I like the intense, overnight moisturization, and the faint scent makes them both seem less utilitarian and more spa-like, which I appreciate.

There’s also a nighttime lip balm, which I got as well as the nighttime gift set because WHY NOT and it’s just okay. I prefer Aquaphor for overnight. But if you don’t need extreme lip balm for your big mouth I think this could be good, and certainly cheaper than the similar product at Sephora (which I do not like and don’t understand the hype for!). If your hands and feet need some serious therapy, and you find it hard to moisturize throughout the day (we have LIVES to LIVE!), this overnight solution is effective, affordable, and most of all, provide results FAST.
