Gift Guide 2020: Peloton!

2020, for me, was the year I discovered and became obsessed with Peloton. Peloton is responsible for at least 45% of my positive mental health this year. I’ve written about Peloton a lot (click here to read all about it), and it only made sense for me to make a few suggestions for the at-home-exerciser in your life. This guide is themed to Peloton, but most of these gifts can work for non-Peloton riders, or those who don’t have a bike, treadmill, or any official Peloton equipment. Speaking of, a great gift idea not mentioned here is a subscription to the Peloton App. Gift them three months of app access as a trial run! (Do NOT give a fitness membership of any kind of a person who didn’t explicitly ask for it! But if someone has been considering it and maybe money has been a factor in them not taking the plunge? Then by all means, gift away.)

You can hover over the above image to be linked to all the gifts mentioned, or read on for a few thoughts and feelings about these fantastic, handpicked gifts

I have, as mentioned here, decided to only buy Yeti brand water bottles and tumblers from now on. I have two of these 18oz Yeti Ramblers for my Peloton. I love that they keep my water and ice super cold, and the chug cap is the perfect size for taking a big gulp of water between intervals.

I use towels from Costco, but if you wanted to gift someone a very nice, fancy towel to class up their profuse sweating, this one from Lululemon seems like a great gift. It’s not super expensive, but it’s nicer than a towel I’d buy for myself. A perfect gift!

There is a LOT of Peloton fan merch on Etsy. It’s also VERY wine-themed. If you are a wine mom who loves Cody Rigsby, OH BOY is there a lot of merch for you. This mug is one of the more subdued options.

There’s also a lot of milestone merch on Etsy. Peloton LOVES acknowledging milestones. I know when I hit 100 it was a big deal for me, and it was great to know Peloton thought it was a big deal too! (As I’m writing this I’m four rides away from 200.) There are a lot of stickers available, but this one is my favorite, and the shop offers lots of other milestone stickers.

Getting Injinji Toe Socks made a big difference in my cycling induced foot pain. I wrote all about that here, if you’re into FEET. These socks aren’t cheap, but they have made such a difference for me that I now wear them for walks as well as bike rides. Much like the towel, a pair of these socks aren’t a huge gift investment, but it would be such a thoughtful gift, and one that sometimes it’s hard to justify getting yourself.

Discovering micellar dry shampoo has been one of my 2020 Triumphs, both because it is one of my favorite beauty products, and because the bar for 2020 Triumphs is so low it’s subterranean. This Bumble and Bumble post-workout dry shampoo is the easiest to apply and it works remarkably well on sweaty hair.
