Wear, Watch, Want #142: The Comfy Spinning Updo Edition

Wear: Lil’ Hair Clips

So many things have gone out the window with this quarantine situation, including me giving a single fuck about my hair. I’ve started keeping it out of my face with a mishmash of small hair clips, which - if I’m lucky - makes me look like Miss Hannigan.

The best thing about claw clips is that the cheaper they are, the better they are. I mainly use two different types of Scunci clips, both available at Target, which have withstood all manner of tangled dry shampoo’d birds nest I can toss at them. I like these ones to hold back my growing-out bangs, and these ones to fasten a little twist that I use to get my needed-washing-two-days-ago hair off my neck and out of my face. The last thing I need to be reminded of is that I won’t be getting a haircut for at least another month.

Watch: Peloton Workouts

I was trying to think of what I’ve watched this week and I truly came up with a blank. I’m trying to keep up with Outlander, and generally failing (this season is… not my favorite), and if I didn’t sync up my Roswell, NM viewings with a friend I doubt I’d even watch that, a show I adore! Most of my screen time has been spent with the instructors at the Peloton studio, AKA my new best friends. This is a little sneak peek into next week, when I’ll outline how I created a faux Peloton experience for - hang on to your butts - less than HALF the cost of a Peloton bike. And I even added extra stuff! And it’s going great. I am obsessed. There are some days where it seems an intervals and arms ride with Tunde is the only thing keeping me from a mental breakdown. The app has tons of stuff on it that doesn’t need a bike, or any equipment. And, because of the state of things, the free trial period has been stretched to 90 days. And it’s not one of those sneaky ones where you put in your credit card and then have to remember to cancel. They ask for nothing at all. For 90 days! Can you tell I am fully into this? Can you tell this has saved me during the past five weeks of sheltering in place? Some days is the most social interaction I have just me talking back to a video of Cody while I climb a fake hill on a stationary bike? ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Want: Sweaty Betty Simhasana Sweatshirt

I have been doing a lot of inspirational shopping lately, and there are a few things that I know that I don’t need, but I just want because they are nice and don’t we deserve nice things now more than ever? One thing I have been wanting, and could actually get a ton of use out of, is this sweatshirt from Sweaty Betty. It looks like it’s the perfect weight, the perfect amount of oversized without looking foolish, AND it has thumbholes so the sleeves stay put.
