Wear, Watch, Want #190: The Educational Snack Bridge Edition

Wear: Silicone Nose Pads for Glasses

Since I first learned about them, I have been a devotee of low bridge fit glasses. I got a new pair of glasses last summer (low bridge of course) and they have been a problem for months. They leave red marks on my nose, they hurt, they slip down my face… they are NOT living up to the standard of the low bridge fit I know and love. I have gone in to get them adjusted at least five times. I have had my own face mansplained to me by the same optician TWICE. I can’t go back, but I also can’t keep living with glasses that leave red, painful imprints on my nose. So I bought some nose pads.

I used to put nose pads on all my glasses, but then I learned I shouldnt have to do that, hence the switch to low bridge fit. These are supposed to eliminate the need for nose pads, so I was very resistant to getting them for these glasses. PLUS, with the low bridge fit, the bridge is shapes so that regular nose pads would be 1) super obvious and 2) make the fit very weird. But again, I could NOT go on the way I was with these glasses. So i bought the thinnest nose pads I could find, these ones, and they’re PERFECT. Not only do they keep my nose from red, painful marks, they keep my glasses from sliding down my nose. I wish I had gotten them months ago.

Watch: Brishanna Scott on TikTok

Do you like You’re Wrong About? Then you’ll love TikToker Brishanna Scott. She does videos about pop culture, history, and really anything that interests her, all in 60 second video clips. She does note when she is voicing an opinion, but her videos are heavily researched and she explains things in a way that is clear and concise and compelling. I just love her. She’s working on developing a YouTube channel, and for right now she has a few videos that take her TikTok series and put them all in one video, in case you don’t want to learn something 60 seconds at a time. Here’s a little sample of one of her videos, and one that particularly spoke to me (she’s right, if you didn’t live through it you can’t know just how radical and special Princess Diana was!).

Want: Snack Variety Pack

This is another thing I learned about on TikTok (here’s the video). You can go to a Frito-Lay website and create your own snack variety pack of 30 items, for just $16. You can sample all kinds of chips, cookies, granola bars… as long as it’s made by Frito-Lay, Quaker, or another company involved with Snacks.com. Here’s the catch: It’s not available everywhere. They SAID it would be available across the US by early 2021 but baby, we’re almost to MID 2021 and I can’t get a snack variety pack delivered to my doorstep. I check the website… often. If you are in a zip code supported by this silly, fantastic program, please order one. Tell me about it. Let me live vicariously through your snack adventures.
