Wear, Watch, Want #245: The Walking French Bargain Edition

Wear: Cerave Moisturizing Cream

Cerave Moisturizing Cream is my absolute favorite, can’t live without it moisturizer. I use it on my whole body every day, and right now it’s on sale at Costco for $6 off. Cerave is always a better deal at Costco, but then when it goes on SALE?? I’m stocking up.

Watch: Aline

I ADORE Céline Dion, so when I found out there was an unauthorized biopic about her life, where the screenwriter/director/stay plays her in EVERY stage of her life?? I didn’t need a single additional detail, I was ALL IN. Aline is very clearly about Céline Dion, but because the names are changed they can have a little extra wiggle room with facts. This isn’t a BIO biopic, it’s a strange distant cousin to a biopic that’s just goofy enough to work — just like Celine herself.

Aline is a strange movie, but if you go in with the expectation that you are about to watch a weird, camp, French cinematic experiment, you won’t be disappointed. Like I said before, Valérie Lemercier plays Aline at every age, from a preschooler to a middle aged woman. Watching this making-of video, it’s astonishing how much skill and effort was put into… an unauthorized Céline Dion biopic where a 58 year old woman plays a baby.

Aline is a weird, wonderful work of art, and you can stream it now on Amazon Prime Video.

Want: Dog Walks

My puppy, Gus, is afraid of walks. Literally, we cannot take walks without him fully shutting down, shaking, and needing to be brought home. We’re working with a trainer, and I have faith that some day we WILL be able to walk around the neighborhood, but the process of getting there is exhausting. It feels like so much effort to get ready for a walk, only to be outside for 5 minutes if we’re lucky. I just want to WALK my DOG!
