My Dream Come True: A Magnetic Phone Charger WITH a Popsocket Already Attached

I recently upgraded my phone, and now I have MagSafe. This has been a feature on iPhones for years, but this is my first experience with it, and I’m already in love. The thing that most appealed to me with MagSafe was portable batteries that MAGically attach to your phone and charge it. I have used a portable battery for so long, I first wrote about it when I was using an iPhone 5. Then I upgraded to an Anker one, and now I’ve fulfilled my want of five weeks ago and upgraded again, this time to a magnetic Anker battery with an integrated PopSocket.

The MagGo With Popsocket Grip is $70, which is the only reason I didn’t buy one right away. That’s a lot to spend on a small convenience (particularly when I have an external battery that will work perfectly fine), but I decided to wait until Black Friday and see if I could get a deal. I decided it would be worth $40 to me, so if it went on sale for anything above that, I’d skip it. Anker/Amazon read my mind, because it went on sale for $40, and I bought it right away.

I’m so glad I did. One of the things I find obnoxious about an extra battery is using your phone while its attached to the battery and charging. it’s so bulky and hard to maneuver. This would be solved with a magnetic battery pack, but I’m also a PopSocket devotee. I find it difficult (it feels impossible) to use a phone without it. A MagSafe charger from a brand I trust, WITH a Popsoscket built IN?? Now that I’m thinking about it, maybe this thing IS worth $70 (it isn’t).

And it’s small! The battery is the same thickness as my phone itself, and with the Popsocket, you can barely tell it’s there. The only downside is that this holds half the charging power of my regular Anker battery pack. And that one is like 20 bucks. This is the main reason why I think you absolutely should not pay $70 for this battery. If I were going to a theme park, I’d bring the regular Anker charger, but to throw in my bag just in case I need a little juice out and about? This battery is perfect. It’s small, it’s arthritis friendly (Popsockets ARE disability aids!), and it’s easy to just whack it on the back of your phone and keep doing whatever you’re doing.
