Everything You Need to Charge Various Devices with One Cord

I recently traded in my old iPad (5th gen mini) for a new one (6th gen mini). I did have to wait about a month for the new iPad to arrive, so in that time I got a stylus (to make sure I would actually use a stylus before buying an Apple Pencil), an iPad case (tragically my Beetlejuice case won’t fit on the new iPad), and even a screen protector (I haven’t used a screen protector in eons, but I’ve also never used a potentially damaging stylus every day). I’d thought of everything, right? WRONG. Never in a million years did it occur to me to check what kind of charging port the iPad Mini 6th Gen had.

When I unboxed the new iPad and saw the USB-C charging cord, I was shocked. For years and years I have used one lighting charger for my iPhone and iPad. I don’t have just one cord, I have myriad cords all over my house and car and even luggage. But I just use one in each location for both my iPhone and iPad. I’ve never needed to charge both at once, so I just plug in whichever one needs a charge. Now I have an iPhone 11 Pro that has a lightning port, and an iPad Mini 6th Gen that has a USB-C port. I didn’t want to go back to two-charging cord life, so I needed a solution.

Luckily, they make lighting to USB-C adapters, but they’re so little, even me, a person who never loses anything, would lose them. I needed some kind of dual cord, or a little baggie I could attach to the cord to keep the adapter in… after looking at many options, I discovered the Charging Cable Cozy.

You simply put your teensy tiny adapter on one end, and the other end around your charging cable. Now you can easily switch back and forth, depending on your charging needs. The Cozies come in different colors and quantities, but I got a 10-pack of black solely because that was the only one that would arrive in one day - all the others were at least a week away.

Here’s the adapter in action. I also added this little cord keeper to my couch arm table so I wouldn’t have blindly wave my arm off the side of the couch looking for my charging cord.

To say that this system works well is an understatement. It’s inexpensive, simple, and solves my problem. It is exactly, perfectly, what I needed. If you too have devices with varying charging ports, but you was a simplified setup, I cannot recommend this solution enough.
