Thanks to This Additive, My Laundry is Clean, Bacteria Free, and Smells Incredible

I’ve always felt comforted by the idea of sanitizing things. One of the main reasons I love having a dishwasher now is because I think of it as The Great Sanitizer. Sure I can wash dishes, but I want them clean clean, and that’s a job only my dishwasher can tackle. A horrifying example: Without my dishwasher, I would have had to throw out my Birkenstock garden clogs after I stepped in raccoon diarrhea (there are even grosser details of this story, I’m sparing you). Instead I hosed them off, ran them through the dishwasher (then ran a clean cycle on the dishwasher) and now I’m still wearing those clogs years later. (Sidenote: Sometimes I dishwasher a little too close to the sun.)This is all to say, when I started seeing laundry sanitizer being marketed, I was interested.

Initially I thought I’d just use Lysol Laundry Sanitizer Free & Clear on dog stuff. Then I started using it with towels, then I put some in when I washed my sheets. To use this miracle elixir, you use detergent (I’m a Kirkland Free & Clear girlie) as usual, and add the laundry sanitizer into the fabric softener compartment. In my machine, the correct amount fills the compartment completely, so I don’t have to use the cap to measure anymore, I just pour it right in.

Here’s the thing that’s shocking to me - it makes my laundry smell fantastic. I use free & clear detergent, and free & clear laundry sanitizer, and my stuff comes out smelling so good, I keep sniffing it like I’m in a commercial. I washed my robe the other day and after I put it on I didn’t want to take it off, it smelled so clean and cozy and nice.

I’m not huge on laundry additives, but Lysol Laundry Sanitizer Free & Clear is an exception. It’s easyto use, makes me feel like my stuff is truly clean, AND, somehow, it makes my laundry smell divine.
