Birkenstock Gizeh Sandal

The warmer months are almost upon us, which means it's time to freshen up your pedicure and slip into some sandals. I'm a big fan of sandals - I'll wear them whenever possible. My feet just need to be free. Plus, frankly, my feet are adorable, and should be shown off. Every year I have a vast collection of sandals, both new and old, but the ones that are always in rotation and always will be are my Birkenstock Gizeh Sandals.

I truly think the Birkenstock Gizeh is the perfect sandal. It's a classic design that works with almost any outfit, and it comes in a bajillion colors. I have the ones pictured above, and I've actually re-bought them twice after I wore out the previous ones. (I know you can get them repaired. I'll do that next time. Get off my back.) I also have a pair in red patent leather that are totally awesome.

You may think, "Birkenstocks?! I thought those were just for lesbian moms!" But the Gizeh isn't too hippy-dippy, food co-op, drum circle Birkenstock-y. (Even if they were, I'd still wear them. I'm into that shit.) Birkenstocks all have that commune-chic kind of look about them, but the Gizeh takes it up a notch. It's like reverse Derelicte. Plus, since they're Birkenstocks, they're comfy as hell.

I've literally worn my Gizeh sandals all over the world, and they've never let me down. In true Birkenstock fashion, they conform to your feet and give you the perfect fit and support. They stand up to just about anything you throw at them, from walking up and down the Las Vegas Strip to trekking all over Stockholm (both adventures I've been on with my Gizehs). I can wear my Gizeh sandals all day and my feet still feel cozy and supported. I really think they're the best travel shoe. They're thin and perfect for packing, but are also great for traveling by plane, when you want shoes you can slip on and off easily, but that will keep you comfy all day while to lug your stuff from terminal to terminal.

I'd say when I'm wearing sandals, 80% of the time they're Gizehs. They're an eternal classic, and I plan on wearing them for the rest of my life.
