Get The Face Of a Greek Goddess

Last Wednesday I told you about my new nightly skincare regimen involving argan oil, but that was only half of my new beauty menu. Part one is from Morocco, and part two hails from just a hop and a skip away (in terms of the entire globe), in Greece. The Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial is the perfect nighttime moisturizer to battle my skin's tendency toward hyperpigmentation and my own love of products that make me feel a bit like a glamorous older woman.

First of all, I love rose scents. I often hear people describe rose as being an "old lady" scent, to which I say, "Exactly!" Too much rose is cloying, I'll grant you that, but just enough is the smell of Old Hollywood, dressing tables covered in lotions and potions and costume jewelry, and getting all gussied up to travel. In other words: Glamorous Grandma Stuff. In other other words: My favorite stuff. The first time I used this moisturizer I felt like I was in a silk dressing gown, getting ready for bed in a movie from the 30s. I was in oversized sweatpants and no number of Instagram filters would want you to preserve my image, so clearly this cream could work mid-grade miracles.

And that was just the scent! I haven't even gotten to the actual results yet! As I mentioned before (and I have mentioned many, many times in other posts) my skin is prone to hyperpigmentation. I was actually dealing with a few pretty bad dark spots, plus some dryness, when I decided to give a sample of this sleeping facial a go. I didn't notice my dark spots immediately break up after a few night or anything like that (that's simply not possible, sorry), but what I did notice was that after just a few uses, my skin felt much smoother. Normally my areas of hyperpigmentation are rougher than the rest of my skin, and I haven't found a product that so quickly remedied that problem and kept it at bay. The skin smoothing qualities of this sleeping facial were what kept me using my little sample, and eventually, after quite a few uses, I could see that it did help with my hyperpigmentation!

Just like with my other new nightly skincare love, argan oil, a little of this moisturizer goes a long way. I had a deluxe sample tube from Sephora that lasted me weeks, if not a month. I bought a full size jar of the Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial once I knew I wanted to keep using it, but I still had over a week left in that little tube! It was practically never ending! If the price seems slightly steep, remember that this is a product where a pea-sized amount (I tend toward about a pea and a half - I have a big face) will be enough for your whole face. If that small tube lasted me a month, this jar should last me at least three. Plus, Sephora now offers a smaller size jar, so if you try a sample and want more, but aren't ready for the big guns, you can always try the baby size first! (I know I plan on getting the little jar for traveling.) The jar itself is heavy and glass and just adds to the whole glamorous feeling you get from using this sleeping facial - even if you're wearing oversized sweatpants.
