Rest Your Tired Eyes on This Drugstore Lifesaver

Concealer is one area of beauty that I feel like an expert in. If you're looking for liquid eyeliner advice, go ask anyone else. If you want to talk concealer, I am your savior. I used to just need concealer to cover blemishes and hyper-pigmentation (both of which I have years and years of experience with), but lately I've needed concealing of a whole new variety.

I don't get a lot of quality sleep, so I do have a lot happening under my eyes that I'd like to hide. Normally I'd have just thrown some of my usual concealer on anything I wanted to keep under wraps and gone on my way, but undereye skin is a horse of an entirely different color. Your under eye skin is thinner, more sensitive, and may actually BE a different color than the rest of the skin on your face. This is where a dedicated under eye concealer comes in handy, and there's one concealer in particular that's not only better than most of the competition, it's also inexpensive and easy to come by.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer has a smooth, easy application, made even simpler by the sponge-tipped applicator. You click the product up by turning the cap, and then swipe or dab the sponge under your eyes. I like to swipe the product on and let it sit for a few seconds, then pat it in with my fingertips or a small foundation brush. (Once you've used the sponge a few times to dispense the concealer, it doesn't really work for blending - you'll just end up adding leftover product to your skin.) If you've got a lot to cover, NARS Creamy Concealer layers over this concealer really nicely. Again, I speak from a lot of experience - Most days I opt for this combo.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer is consistently ranked among the best concealers, and for good reason. In fact, the amazing site Rank & Style has Maybelline's holy grail concealer ranked as #8 on their list of Best Drugstore Makeup, #6 on their list of Best Under Eye Concealers, and #1 on their list of Best Drugstore Concealers. Instant Age Rewind Concealer is regularly mentioned by all kinds of beauty connoisseurs from bloggers to professional makeup artists.

One note if you're going to head out to your local drugstore and pick up this concealer (BTW, you should): There's also a Maybelline foundation that looks very similar, especially if you're only familiar with these products through online photos. If you're looking for the foundation, it's in a larger container that is sold as a freestanding tube, but the concealer is smaller and comes on a blisterpack. So if you pick up a sponge-tipped tube and think to yourself, "No one has under eyes this huge!" you're probably right.
