Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals
Tuesday I reviewed one of my latest sandal obsessions: The Sexi Flip sandal from Crocs. Today I'd like to cover my OTHER favorite sandals, Sam Edelman's Gigi.
You've probably seen these sandals everywhere. It seems like every Nordstrom shoe section has an entire display of the seemingly endless colors and styles of Gigis. It's easy to want every pair. I have three pairs myself, and I lust for more. The Gigi is quite possibly the quintessential summer sandal. It's a classic style that goes with everything from a nice maxi dress to a pair of old cutoffs. Plus, with so many different colors, there's so much variety you'll never want for another sandal again. (Unless you're like me, in which case you want for EVERY sandal.)
There are two tricks for stocking up on Gigi sandals and not breaking the bank. At $65 a pair, these sandals straddle the line between being cheap and expensive, i.e, for the quality and brand they're inexpensive, but if you want four pairs they're a little pricy, and why not just get knockoffs? WELL. I'll tell you why! If you have tiny feet, Sam Edelman makes what is essentially the Gigi (but called the Gwyneth) in kid's sizes, and they're the same materials and the same quality, but only cost $45. I wear a 9.5, so this isn't an option for me. BUT, I have bought each of my three pairs of Gigis for only $4o, so suck it you baby footed cheapskates! My secret, which isn't really a secret, as I tell everyone about it, is Nordstrom Rack.
Oh, Nordy Rack, you are truly a magical place. And your shoe department is lousy with Gigi sandals. LOUSY I TELL YA! Buying three pairs of the same sandals there was the result of me restraining myself. There were so many options! And this is coming from a bigfoot. There are probably more options for the 7's and 8's out there. Or maybe there are so many options for me because I'm a bigfoot? Maybe the 7's and 8's are SOL. I don't know. I just follow the wall of shoes to the bigfoot section and don't pay attention to anything else. Anyway, Sam Edelman Gigi sandals are $40 at Nordstrom Rack, which for those of you that aren't skilled in math, is $25 less than the price at Normal Nordstrom. And they're the same shoes! Two of the pairs I've bought are still available at full price in stores now! Here are the pairs I own and love. They're all pretty neutral, so now of course I"m craving a pair in neon or leopard print.
The basic gist is this: The best, most classic, stylish, amazing sandals. The sandals that are all over magazines, the sandals that people (myself included) can't stop raving about. AND AT A DISCOUNT! Run, don't walk, and get started on your Gigi collection immediately.
