Wear, Watch, Want #125: The Spooky Underwear Edition

Wear: True & Co Triangle Bralette

After wearing sports bras under regular clothes for weeks, I realized that I was in need of some sort of bralette. Something to give a little oomph but still feel like wearing nothing. Off to Nordstrom I went, and i grabbed just about every supportive but ultra-comfy bralette I could find. In the dressing room, however, I ended up only liking ONE, the True & Co True Body Triangle Bralette. I have been wearing it every day, and I’m planning on buying more.

Watch Listen: Scary Stories to Tell on the Pod

As a child of the 80s and 90s, I am very familiar with Alvin Schwartz and Stephen Gammell’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I didn’t own any of the books, but they had them at my after school program (they also had a TON of Archie comics, excellent literary selection), and I had a dangerous (i.e. watched the IT TV movie with their parents) friend who owned the books and we’d read them at sleepovers. Scary Stories to Tell on the Pod is a show where Anna Drezen and Andrew Farmer alternate reading a story from one of the three Scary Stories books, complete with tangents, commentary, and comedic interludes. There’s also an “Urban Legisode” each Wednesday, in which the hosts talk about - you should have figured this out already - an urban legend (or a mystery, or a spooky story). They end each of these episodes with one of my favorite podcast segments: Spooky Ideas for Things That Could Happen. At the end of each of these “ideas,” the hosts announce, “That could happen!” and it’s one of those bits that pops into my mind at random intervals and I laugh to myself and then maybe feel weird for just laughing alone at a thought. It’s great! I have no idea if this podcast would appeal to someone who has never heard of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, but if you HAVE, i would say this podcast is a must-listen.

Want: Wacoal B-Fitting Brief

Normally, Wacoal B-Fitting Briefs are in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I get a few pairs. But this year they changed it! I was planning on stocking up on unders! They don’t even SELL them at Nordstrom anymore! I’ve been trying different underwear to see if I can find a substitute, but they’ve all been failures. B-Fitting Briefs are still available at a few stores, and I think I need to just give up the hunt and pay full price for my favorite underwear.
