Gift Guide 2019: Be Merry!
I was a kid when AFI first came out with their list of 100 best movies. We printed out the list and worked our way though, watching all the ones I hadn’t seen. I think this is a GREAT activity for a family (I was 11 at the time) and while this 100 Movies Scratch Off Poster isn’t the same as the AFI list, it IS more tactile and a fun way to work your way through some classic films (classic, in this situation, included The Notebook and Office Space). There’s also a poster for 100 Women in Movies.
This is a gift that is maybe particular to me only, but I love it. My grandma had a hairdryer that looked exactly like this one, and when I went to stay with her she would give me a bath and then we’d play “beauty shop” where I’d sit and tell her made-up gossip while she dried my hair. This itty bitty hairdryer is USB powered, and apparently actually works! You could use it to… dry your bangs? Dry your nail polish? I don’t know, but I know I want it, simply because of nostalgia.
I couldn’t create a gift guide without a bit of leopard print, my favorite color. This sweater from Scotch & Soda fits the bill perfectly.
The internet really doesn’t do these glitter Birkenstocks justice. I have seen them in person and they are GLITTERY. They’re also lined in purple fur, which is visually nice but I’d imagine would get gross almost immediately.
I have a few sculptural brass pieces hanging in my house, but I don’t have a big gold beetle, and I’m pretty sure I need one. And you do too!
I get Draper James ads on Instagram, but I’ve never looked at their offerings. BUT now that I know they sell What Would Dolly Do? Apparel, like this tee shirt, my interest is PIQUED.
