Wear: Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume
I’m always interested in a fragrance that’s a little bit earthy, a little bit subtle, and that just smells like a good smelling human (relatable!). Not a Perfume by Juliette Has a Gun is just one note: Synthetic ambergris. You know ambergris, the waxy stinky balls that form in sperm whales stomachs, and are also the base for many perfumes? Ambergris, at least in the US, is illegal, but that’s just fine when we can make synthetic stuff that smells the same. I will say, i have no idea how synthetic ambergris is made, so if it’s something as bad as cutting open an endangered whale to coat your body in it’s stomach contents then please, forgive me. ANYWAY, this scent is just ambergris. It smells like something you can’t quite place, but that smells good. I will say it does fade kind of quickly, but it comes in this tiny bottle, so just toss it in your bag and top up your Whale Smell all day long.

I cannot believe my heroine, Olivia Colman, is in the new season of The Crown, but the person I’m most interested in is Erin Doherty’s Princess Anne?? And I’m not the only one! We’re all obsessed! And Doherty’s performance is mesmerizing. The voice! The posture! Incredible. A month ago, I could have told you, oh, ONE thing about Princess Anne. Now I’m like, “She was the first Royal to compete in the Olympics!” “She saved herself from her own kidnapping!” Meghan will always be my shining star, but I’m now America’s newest Princess Anne Stan.
Want: Teva Ember Mid Booties
These sleeping bag looking boots are so dorky. And I want a pair. I first saw the moc version, and immediately thought they were weird and ugly and wanted a pair immediately. THEN I saw they came in a boot version and now I really, truly, do need a pair. The women’s and men’s styles are slightly different, and I’m debating which one I like better (women’s have a higher ankle, but men’s have a cool zipper detail), but once I do, I’m getting a pair of these geek shoes.
