I Like Jeggings? I LOVE Jeggings?!

I would have NEVER thought I’d advocate for leggings, LET ALONE jean leggings (horrifically referred to as jeggings), but life is full of mysteries and surprises. I wrote about how I love the Old Navy High Rise 24/7 Sculpt Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans, and I do, they’re great, but on a whim I ordered a pair of Mid-Rise 24/7 Sculpt Rockstar Pull-On Jeggings and OH MAN.

I look exactly like this, it’s uncanny.

If you asked me a few years ago if I wanted to wear what are essentially toddler jeans, I would have said NO WAY. But my body is in some level of pain constantly, and I like to look pulled together, but still demand comfort. These jeans are the best of both worlds. They are impossibly comfy and the only way to tell they’re not “real” jeans is if you see the waistband (mine is always covered). They don’t have a fly and the front pockets are fake, but the back pockets are real, and I only use my back pockets anyway, so I really don’t miss any of that front-of-the-jeans malarkey.

My actual pants. You can’t even tell those pockets and the fly are fake.

I will say, I had no idea what the difference was between the Mid-Rise 24/7 Sculpt Rockstar Pull-On Jeggings and the Built-In Sculpt Never-Fade Rockstar Jeggings, so I ordered a pair of both. I didn’t even pull the built-in sculpt ones on all the way, they were SO not what I was looking for. The 24/7 sculpt, however, were super stretchy and comfy and basically just like my favorite jeans, but with an elastic waistband. I wear an 8 tall in normal, fly-having jeans at Old Navy, but I decided to go 10 tall for the jeggings. Why? I could not tell you. I bought 8 tall initially and exchanged them and liked them better and that’s that. My mom, who is decidedly smaller than me, tried on my 10 talls and bought some in the same size for herself, but she likes a little bit of a looser fit, while I like ‘em TIGHT. Basically, I have no advice on sizing. Buy a bunch and return and keep trying things out.

My attempt at showing the whiskering in real life.

I first got a pair of the 24/7 sculpt jeggings in black, and immediately knew I wanted a blue pair as well. The blue has some whiskering on it that I’m not crazy about, but it’s not super noticeable. You can see in the photos above that it’s hard to even capture on film. Plus these jeans are so comfortable that I really don’t care. I now have a pair of my favorite high rise, 24/7 sculpt jeans with an actual button and zip fly in blue and black, and a pair each of blue and black jeggings. I wear the jeggings basically every day. Toddler jeans FOR LIFE!
