Harness Volcanic Power to Keep Your Skin Shine-Free

I have super oily skin. My greatest companion for the past almost two decades (whoa) has been Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets (and if I’m being honest, actually the Target knockoff oil sheets). I keep them in every bag, in my car, in my bathroom cabinet… EVERYWHERE. They are so beloved to me, they were one of the first things I wrote about on this site, in this post, from March of 2012. But I haven’t used one in who knows how long. Partly because I don’t go anywhere and I haven’t been wearing much makeup (a lifestyle I’m labeling pandémique chic), but also because of Revlon’s Oil-Absorbing Volcanic Roller.

I don’t want to think of how many oil absorbing sheets I have gone through since I started using them in my early teens. But now I’m on the sustainable track with this little roller that works just as well - if not better than - my beloved greasy sheets.

It’s just as you’d expect. This little ball of volcanic rock rolls over your skin, absorbing all the oil without disturbing your makeup. It will get a little darker, from the oil, and when you want to refresh it, you just pop out the volcanic stone ball and wash it. I simply wash it in my bathroom sink with hand soap. It dries super quickly and you put it back together and you’re ready to go!

It’s not as easy to stick in your pocket or wallet as a package of oil absorbing sheets, but the reusability makes it a much more appealing product. It’s about the size of a lip balm, and while i haven’t yet used it in public, I’d imagine it’s a bit less gross than patting a silicone-y sheet all over your face as it slowly gets more and more saturated with oil. This is like a spa treatment! I imagine people would just assume you are taking time for self-care. Having a bit of a facial massage on a park bench before you head off on your next adventure! This is what I will tell myself, at least.

If you are a little greaseball (I can say that, I am one myself) and you want to produce less trash and still retain a less-oily-than-normal complexion, you must add this little volcanic rock roller stick to your beauty arsenal.
