Things I've Learned From TikTok

One of the best educational resources of our time is an app that teens use to mock people with side parts. I have learned so much from TikTok, from how to clean my dryer to how to knead bread. Here are some of my favorite, most life-changing lessons I’ve learned from what was formerly a lip syncing app.

How to Clean Your Oven

A non toxic ##ovenclean for those who dont want to use harsh oven ##cleaners - Yes I use oven cleaners but only if there are no kids/animals ##fy

I have some greasy stains on the window of my oven that I could not remove no matter what I tried. I saw this video, got the supplies, followed the directions, and IT WORKED. I can actually check on my baked goods without opening the oven door now. I’m on the hunt for more uses for Dawn PowerWash because that stuff is LEGIT.

How to Do a Loop Start With Three Strands

If you’re a cross stitcher, you have probably heard of loop starts. I’ve only ever seen tutorials for how to do them with two strands. I use three strands, and I always thought loop starts weren’t for me. Then this video came into my life, and now I ONLY use this method to start my stitches. I think it has saved me days of my life, made my stitching go faster, and made me feel like a powerful stitching witch. Also, if you are a cross stitcher, this account is fabulous.

Book Recommendations

I have read two out of the three books mentioned in this video. I am trying to get more BookTok to show up on my For You Page because NO ONE recommends a book like someone passionate enough to make a BookTok account!

I have this saved for when I need some less leisurely reading pics, and I found out my therapist has it saved too. Always a good sign, and always follow Hannah Talks Bodies!

I haven’t made this, but I have all the necessary ingredients on my shopping list and I’m VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT.
Addendum: I DID make it! I shopped around for a few recipes and ended up doing 1.5ish hours in a 250 oven. I’d also recommend Googling around for info about botulism, because this delicious stuff CAN turn into poison if you’re not smart about it. My plan is to toss any garlic confit I don’t eat in about two weeks (which is plenty of time to eat it all)

@justine_snacks

this is a love letter to everyone who is too lazy to press tofu ❤️ ##tofu ##vegan ##glutenfree ##nutritionalyeast ##nooch

I have never cooked tofu for myself but you know what, now I’m gonna!

I’m not about to start making bread but have you seen HannahBreadTok? It’s pornography.
