Picture These Two at The End of a Hall Saying, 'Come Mask With Us.'

I don’t know if they’re doing a little re-formulating, or re-branding, or if it’s just on my radar for the first time, but the Sephora Collection Skincare is pretty good. I’m not really into Sephora’s in house brand, mostly because it’s comparable to many things you can get at Target, and Target is more convenient AND has frequent sales. BUT, there are some cult products that Sephora Colleciton has really cornered the market on. My latest Sephora Brand love? Their Mask Stick, which comes in four varieties, each of which will only set you back $6.

I initially bought the Nourishing and Purifying varieties because I was trying to get free shipping on my order. I have mentioned oh, 75 times that I like to slap on a face mask after I work out, putter around while it dries (or not) and then hop in the shower. Masks in stick form are perfect for this routine. You just swipe them all across your face and that’s it. There’s no rubbing it in, no dirtying your fingers, no mess at all. It takes about 15 seconds.

I have the Milk Makeup Matcha Mask and I have to say, I think the Sephora Collection ones are better. One of my complaints about the Milk mask was that you could only apply a thin layer. That is probably good, I bet your don’t NEED more, but I want a MASK not a translucent veil. The Sephora masks go on in a very solid, substantial layer. The Purifying mask has little chunks of… I guess spirulina? I have no idea, but it makes it feel very significant. The Watermelon Nourishing mask has scared me multiple times when I’ve forgotten it was on and caught sight of myself in the mirror, but my face was suddenly a very strange pink shade. Because the masks are so easy to apply, and apply with precision, you can even use different ones on different parts of your face. Sometimes my cheeks just don’t NEED a super powered mask, and that’s just fineI Plus, it makes your face look like an abstract art piece.

The sticks are small, but I think that’s a benefit. They’re even more travel friendly, they’re cute and fun to have in your little mask stash, and while the package says that each has 15 uses, that’s still a LOT of masks, and it makes each mask application 40 cents. I’ve been seeing stick masks from drugstore brands popping up and even those are twice the price of the Sephora Collection Mask Sticks.

Edited to add: I’ve now bought the Bamboo and Charcoal masks as well. The charcoal says it’s exfoliating, but I had about 4 grains of exfoliant for my entire face, so I wouldn’t depend on that. Each of the mask says it’s for a different thing, but they’re not extremely different and I don’t think there’s really a difference between say, the blue purifying one and the black smoothing one. BUT they’re cheap and fun and easy and do make your face feel a bit more thoroughly cleansed, especially after a workout.
