You Can Still Buy These Two Hand Sanitizers - Stock Up Now, Rest Easy Later

In this new world we’re living in, disinfecting is the name of the game. As someone who already had hand sanitizer hidden all around my home, suddenly facing shortages was instantly panic-inducing. Sure, I would buy multiple hand sanis at a time, and wasn’t worried about running out immediately, but I had no idea what the future held and if I’d be able to clean my hands on the go (or, in the case of the spray I keep next to my couch, without getting up from a perfect lounge position to wash my hands). Here are my two favorite maybe-you-didn’t-think-of-this hand sanitizers - stock up now so you’re prepared for the next wave!

I love Megababe. I use their Rosy Pits deodorant and Bust Dust on a regular basis (I even have the armpit mask, which is weird and great), so when I got an email that they had hand sanitizer in stock, I was on the site within seconds. They sell a big pump bottle as well as a travel sized mini bottle, and I got two of the big ones and one small one, partly so I could get free shipping, and partly because I was panicked about never seeing hand sanitizer again. Squeaky Clean Hand Sanitizer has 62% alcohol (The CDC recommends at least 60%) and has a nice, clean scent. I keep one of the 16oz pump bottles on the windowsill above my sink, and use it in tandem with hand washing to make sure my paws are really, truly clean. It’s nice for times when I’m about to cook, or I just came in from picking up dog poop, to just really clean the bejesus out of my hands. I haven’t used the small one yet, but I think I may move it to my car once my glovebox hand sanitizer runs out.

Speaking of small hand sanitizers, I think the ones that come in a little silicone sleeve that you get in the Target travel section are TOO BIG. They’re small-ish, but they’re not comfortable to keep in your pocket or attached to your dog walk keys (you know, the keychain that only has a house key so you can walk the dog unencumbered by a massive key menagerie? If you don’t have dog walk keys then please correct that immediately, You don’t even need to have a dog to need them). The solution to this problem lies in the girls’ section at Target. There’s a line there called More Than Magic, and it’s a little display in the center of the girls’ clothes that’s full of preteen bath and beauty products. If your’e a millennial and remember Limited Too, it is very Limited Too in there, so if you feel like you’re going to see some holographic smiley-face tops or peace sign flip flops, you are in the right place. Among the bath bombs and sheet masks and just so. much. glitter. you will find some sparkly 1oz hand sanitizers. They come in flavors like blue raspberry and melon mango and the plainest ones are still in a pastel, glitter-coated silicone sleeve (the others have little characters or icons on the front) but I consider all those things a bonus. I keep one of these attached to my dog walk keys, and I recently bought ten of them to give out to friends and family. They are, in my opinion, the PERFECT size for carting around. Attach them to a backpack, a leash, anything, and you will be able to sanitize unobtrusively on the go.

While Megababe is available online directly through Megababe in both sizes, you can get the smaller one at Ulta and Target. More Than Magic is only available at Target stores, but I have found them there every time I have looked. No one is checking the Limited Too throwback section for hand sanitizer, and now Target (at least my local Target) has lifted the limit on how many hand sanis you can get, so buy a dozen if you want (I only bought eight one time because I was making care packages. Don’t be a jerk and buy out all of them for yourself plzzzz). Plus, when you can get MTM hand sanitizer on the Target site, it’s listed at $2.99, but it my store they’re 97 cents each. Now go clean your hands!
