Wear, Watch, Want #204: The Slip On Murderous Bra Edition

Wear: Sweaty Betty Stamina Sports Bra

The stamina sports bra from Sweaty Betty was a part of Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. I bought one. Tried it, loved it, and bought three more while the sale was still on. The gray is also on sale now, for $24, which is an absolute steal. There’s also a longline version, but I find on me that the longline just rolls up and gets in the way. I grab one of these bras almost every day. I’m mainly wearing athleisure anyway, so why put on an uncomfy bra? I will say, these bras are NOT going to support you during a medium to high impact workout, but for working on your laptop from home, maybe talking an afternoon walk to get a change of scenery? They’re perfection.

Watch: Only Murders in the Building

Hulu cannot market their content. They are awful at it, just terrible. I don’t see a lot of advertising in my day to day life, but what I did see of Only Murders in the Building made it look DULL. I didn’t know what it was about even! And if Hulu had done the legwork and made it clear it was about an odd trio (Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) coming together to make a murder mystery podcast when someone in their ritzy apartment building turns up dead, I’d still think it was boring because HULU IS BAD AT ADVERTISING.

True crime podcasts lost their luster YEARS ago, so the idea of a dramedy about how people loooove true crime podcasts sounds, frankly, stale. But Only Murders in the Building is FRESH! It’s entertaining and gripping and they actually reveal things on the regular. There is no mystery that lasts very long, which I appreciate. But the main thing I want you to learn from me about Only Murders in the Building is that in it, Martin Short reprises his role in the 2001 underappreciated teen masterpiece Get Over It.

Is he literally playing Dr Desmond Forrest Oates, high school drama teacher? No. But in my opinion his character in Get Over It leads in a straight line to Oliver Putnam (who, I feel, certainly had some bleached tips in the early aughts). You will never convince me otherwise.

Want: Hoka One One Hupana Slip Sneakers

I’m in need of some cold weather slip on shoes. But, as mentioned above, I’m pretty much only in athleisure at all times. Cute loafers, ballet flats, or clogs are just not going to work with my everyday ensembles. I needed a slip on sneaker. There are so, SO many options, but I ended up really liking Hoka One One’s Humana Slip on sneakers. I think this style may be discontinued, because they are hard to find, but Zappos has them in my size. (Update: They HAD them in my size. Since first writing this I got those shoes, and they’ve arrived, and they are just what I was looking for.)
