Wear, Watch, Want #221: The Ideal Kettlebell Chitchat Edition

Wear: Sweaty Betty Restful Bouclé Half Zip Pullover

I saw this sweater at Anthropologie and decided to try it on. On any Anthropologie excursion, I’m going to try on a lot of stuff, maaaaybe one or two things will work, and I’ll take a photo so I remember to buy them if they go on sale. When I tried on the Sweaty Betty Restful Bouclé Half Zip Pullover, I knew it was worth paying full price. Sweaty Betty is a brand I adore, and this sweater is exactly what I had been looking for. It’s cropped but not too cropped (if you are short it may not be cropped at all). The sleeves are the perfect length (I loathe when sleeves hit you right at the wrist. Too long is the perfect length), the fabric feels cozy and luxurious without making you feel like you’re going to sweat to death, and the kinda beige kinda gray color goes with everything. I would recommend trying it on in-store if possible, because it looks, frankly, terrible on the model SB and Nordstrom use. The Anthro model looks more true to life, but the zipper is different which is… strange? Anyway, if you are curvy and 5’8” this sweater will flatter you in ways these models can only wish for.

Listen: Normal Gossip Podcast

I binge listened to every episode of Normal Gossip this week, and I can’t wait till the next season. The show features the host, Kelsey McKinney, sharing a story from “a friend of a friend” with the guest. Kelsey takes breaks throughout the story to ask the guest what they would do next in the situation, and we get to find out how the messy tale from a stranger unfolds. No episode is longer than an hour or so, although there have only been 8 episodes so that may change. But it’s the perfect length to listen to during a commute, running errands, or just taking a break from your own life to listen to gossip about someone else’s. If you, like me, yell at podcasts/tv shows/movies even though you know they can’t hear you, then Normal Gossip was made for you.

Want: Kettlebell Grip

I love to strength train, but I workout exclusively at home (thanks, Peloton) and I live in a 1,100 sq ft house. I don’t have room for a full weight rack and a bench and whatever else. So when I found a core workout I wanted to try that required a kettlebell I don’t have, I didn’t want to go out and buy more gear (I’m already storing weights under my couch). So I looked into how I could convert weights into kettlebells. There are plenty of kettlebell grips for dumbbells, but none of them work with neoprene weights, which is all I have. All except one: The Yes4All Venus Kettlebell Grip is made specifically for neoprene weights. Perfect! Except I can’t find one. It’s sold out on Amazon and Walmart, and it doesn’t seem to be sold anywhere else. Yes4All, are you listening? Will you send me one? Or even just restock them so I can buy one! Please!
