The Tiny Cuticle Savior I Keep Next to My Couch

I feel like I am constantly at war with my nails. I don’t know if it’s an autoimmune thing or what, but my nails and cuticles go from freshly manicured to horrifying in just days. I’ve started getting dip manicures and it has completely changed my nails for the better (I still can’t get over how my nails are actually strong now, they used to BEND and RIP once they got even a little long), but I want to maintain them, especially because a dip mani lasts 3+ weeks. I have written so, so many times about cuticle oil, but I’ve now repurchased the Sally Hansen Cuticle Oil Balm (reviewed here) a few times and it’s my winner. I keep one in my nightstand and one next to my couch, which is also where I keep my latest must-have doodad: A mini cuticle nipper.

For some reason I haven’t been having as ragged and nasty cuticles since I’ve started getting dip manicures, but I still get little hangnails and overgrown cuticles. It’s best to have something to snip them away close at hand, lest I start picking at them myself and then end up with a cuticle massacre on my hands. That’s why, when I saw that Tweezerman makes a Mini Cuticle Nipper, I knew I had to at least try it. I keep it next to my couch, in an old candle vessel, along with this cuticle oil, this lip balm, and some hand cream.

My nails have never, in recent or longterm memory, looked better. No bloody cuticles, no raggedy raw hands, just strong nails, neat cuticles, and a manicure I can actually maintain.
