Wear, Watch, Want #259: The Creamy Tomato Rock n’ Roll Edition

Wear: Trader Joe’s Tomato Leaf Candle

Trader Joe, do you read this blog? Because I wrote about how disappointed I was that I could only get a tomato leaf candle in a three pack, and now you’re selling a GIANT (compared to their usual candles) tomato leaf candle for just $10. I bought one, because I wasn’t sure if it was going to be good, and I am OBSESSED and will be buying MANY more. The scent is perfect, the vibes are summer and sandals and farmer’s markets, and did I mention it’s a large candle for $10?!

Watch: Daisy Jones & The Six

I saw a TikTok that said whatever Taylor Jenkins Reid book you read first is your favorite, and you find the other ones to be kinda meh. I thought, “Oh wow that’s so true, I loved Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones was good but not AS good.” But I was WRONG, because I keep track of every book I read, and I learned that I read Daisy Jones first! Right when it came out! Then I went back and read Evelyn Hugo, which I’ve REread since!

I don’t know why I felt that anecdote was necessary, when my point is that the Daisy Jones & The Six TV show is so much better than I expected it to be, considering 1) It’s on Amazon, and 2) If you’ve read the book, the adaptation is always lacking. I didn’t remember many details of the book, apart from who the interviewer is (because it’s so similar to Evelyn Hugo’s reveal that I was kinda disappointed - are all her books like this?!), but this show had me RAPT. I stayed up past my bedtime to finish it! Once I had sat with it awhile, there were things I’d change, but while I was watching, it was a triumph. The songs are actually good, the performances are good, the vibe is immaculate.

Want: Ninja Creami

It’s honestly a blessing that I don’t live in a big house with a sprawling kitchen, because I would buy every single small appliance I could get my hands on. Do I need a Ninja Creami? NO! But oh, I want one. You can turn anything into ice cream! You can pour Ripple in there and get protein packed, plant based ice cream! You can make sorbet out of any fruit combination your heart desires! You can make your own FROSTYS.
