The Silicone Sleeve Long Enough To Store My Extra Long Barrel Curling Iron - At Any Temperature

When I was a kid, my mom made curling iron sleeves out of potholders. She’d take a potholder, fold it in half, sew two sides, and just like that, you had a heat proof pocket so you could store your curling iron without waiting for it to cool down. The first time I saw a tool dedicated to holding a hot hair tool I was shocked. You mean I no longer have to ask my mom to sew together a potholder?? And I can buy one of these things at TJ Maxx?? I’ve had a few various hot tool holders over the years, but when I got my Bio Ionic curling iron I knew I needed a new one, one that could fit the extra long barrel.

Lucky for me, these hot tool holders are everywhere, cheap, and it was Prime Day, so I got one for $5 (if you buy one today it’s $7, this wasn’t a huge discount). I liked that it was fully silicone, because I wanted to also use it as a rest for my curling iron while I was using it. The way my (small) bathroom is set up, there was nowhere I could put my curling iron that didn’t leave the hot iron in direct contact with a surface.

Now I can place my silicone sleeve on the side of my sink, use my iron, then store it in that same sleeve. No curling iron hanging around waiting to cool and inevitable getting knocked to the ground, no worries about what a 300°+ iron could do to my sink. I can tuck my still hot iron back in the closet and not worry about any damage. We’ve come a long way since the potholder hack.
