Wear, Watch, Want #85: The Dr. Naked Killer Edition

Wear: Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

I love Urban Decay’s Naked3 Palette. (Or as I call it, “The Pink One.”) If you have a ghostly complexion and want to try out eyeshadow looks, but don’t want anything over the top, Naked3 is the one for you. But just because you’ve found your favorite eyeshadow palette doesn’t mean that you stop looking. At least, it doesn’t for me. One day Sephora was offering Urban Decay’s Naked Heat Palettes for half price, and I was tempted. I saw the deal online and thought, “No, you have the Naked3 and you are happy with it!” Then I happened to be at a Sephora store. And I saw the Naked Heat Palette in person. I don’t know why I didn’t expect it to be gorgeous, but I was shocked. I did NOT think I would be so drawn to warm colors, but there I stood, and this gorgeous palette was half off, and I went for it. And you know what? I reach for it ALL THE TIME.

Watch: Killing Eve

I was looking forward to Killing Eve. I love Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s other shows (Crashing and Fleabag), I love Sandra Oh and still get mad that she didn’t win an Emmy or a Golden Globe for Grey’s Anatomy, and I will (and have) watch anything with Jodie Comer. (Everyone who loved My Mad Fat Diary was rolling their eyes when people started praising Jodie Comer as Vilanelle. WE KNEW AND WE TOLD YOU.) It was a no-brainer. So I watched the first and second episodes… and then I moved. The lesson here, by the way, is that you shouldn’t move at any time that will disrupt your television watching. I moved from Los Angeles to Seattle and missed the rest of Killing Eve, and vowed not to pay to watch it since I knew it would be streaming by the end of the year. FINALLY, December rolled around and Killing Eve was available on Hulu. I rewatched the episodes I had already seen, and then mainlined the remaining episodes. In a day and a half.

Killing Eve is coming back for a second season next year, and this time I’m NOT GOING TO MOVE.

Want: Floral Doc Martens

Sometimes the thing I want is something I have plans to buy. Sometimes it’s just something that I would love to have, but I really can’t justify it. Floral Doc Martens fall solidly under the latter category. I wrote about them in this year’s Gift Guide, and I’m still thinking about them. But I really, really, don’t need them. I had to buy a lot (A LOT) of clothes and boots to get me through my first actual winter in years, and now I’m good. I have boots. Multiple pairs! And yet, I yearn for floral Docs. Someone, please buy them and let me live vicariously through you.
