Sephora Collection Goes K-Beauty With This Lip Tint

I am not a regular lipstick wearer, but I am a HUGE fan of lip products, especially ones that have a bit of color. My ideal is a tinted balm (I have written approximately ten thousand reviews of various MLBB balms), but if I want something that will last, I reach for a stain. The best lip stains I have ever found are from Korean brands, and they last like they’re trying to make it to your grave. But even with K-beauty becoming more and more available stateside, it’s often hard to find that cult K-beauty item you’re looking for. BUT, conveniently for all the beauty heads out there, some brands are creating their own K-beauty inspired products that are not only easier to find, but often cheaper.

Sephora Collection is quickly becoming one of my favorite slept on brands. We all know the Cream Lip Stain is the best of the best, but those stick masks are fantastic as well. When I saw they had a new product called Jelly Melt Glossy Lip Tint, I needed to give it a swatch and see what it was about. I swatched a few shades on my hand, and thought, “Oh, those are pretty.” but when I tried to wipe them off, and saw how they left a noticeable tinted haze of color no matter what I did, I knew I needed to buy at least one.

The stain applies with a doe foot applicator, but that new kind everyone seems to be switching to where it’s mostly flat (Like the one for Fenty concealer). The consistency is sort of wet, I guess that’s the jelly bit. It’s kind of like the watery part of a jelly. But just hang tight and let it dry, or blot it with a tissue, and you’re left with a noticeable tint that’s a little bit sheer, a little bit natural looking, and will survive an apocalypse. I would suggest wearing a balm or gloss over it, otherwise your lips will dry out and you won’t really get any added moisture from reapplying the Jelly Melt itself.

I would say that this is very similar to the Chosungah 22 Dual Lip Tint and Gloss (which is believe you can now only find online, and maybe not even then!) and Tony Moly Liptone Get It Tint Water Bar (I was sure I wrote about this, but I guess not. Anyway, you can only get it online or at a TonyMoly store and, again, maybe not even then). So it’s similar to two products you haven’t been able to try, and maybe couldn’t if you wanted to. I get it, but the beauty of Sephora Collection Jelly Melt Glossy Lip Tint is that you can swatch and buy it at any Sephora store. Often you have to check that Sephora even carries a product in-store that you want, but there’s no way a Sephora isn’t going to keep their in-house brand on the shelves. Now all your K-Beauty indelible lip stain dreams can come true! And for $10!
