Wear, Watch, Want #136: The Small Supportive Repeat Edition

Wear: Kendra Scott Maggie Huggie Earrings

I used to wear enormous earrings. I have a whole collection! But since I moved and became an always-in-activewear PNW person I don’t wear my beloved big jewelry anymore. I do miss a little baubly accent here and there, so I decided to look for some small earrings that I could just put in and have in all the time. These huggie hoops from Kendra Scott fit the bill perfectly. I will say, they are small and some of the reviews said too small to even fit. But I have tiny earlobes so they actually seemed perfect for me. They also have a hinged clasp, but that fits like one of those very hard to use clasps (I have no idea how to explain this) so they’re easy to put on but once they’re on they stay put. I’ve been sleeping in them, showering in them, working out in them, and they’re perfect keep-in-constantly earrings.

Watch: Re-Watching Old Faves

On Thursday of this week i thought, “Oh shit I need a Watch for Saturday. What have I watched??” And I came up blank. Because what I have been watching is stuff I’ve already seen. I’ve been rewatching! Here’s what non-new, but very satisfying things I’ve been rewatching this week:

  • When I don’t know what to watch but I want something to be on, Derry Girls is my go-to. It’s two six-episode seasons of a 30 minute show, so it’s easy to breeze through. I have watched the whole thing, oh, 5 times at least. Also, the Bake Off Holiday Special this year with the cast was *chef’s kiss*. (I’ve already had re-watching Derry Girls as my Watch of the week so I hope that shows you how often I am watching this show.)

  • I was doing some editing that didn’t need me complete attention and I didn’t want to just play my playlist of film scores like I usually do, so I put on the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. It is the superior adaptation and I will fight you on that. Also, it’s on my film score playlist, as are many regency period film scores.

  • I traveled back in time to watch season 3 of Love Island. Nothing in this life has been more relatable to me than Camilla crying for a whole day when she realized she kissed someone who didn’t believe in gender equality.

Want: High Quality Sports Bras

Athleta, supplier of 80% of my wardrobe, was having a sale recently and I decided to try on some bras. I wanted to know what size and style I liked in case they were majorly on sale and I could upgrade my sports bra supply. UM. I had no idea I was wearing bad bras and my life was forever changed. I bought two, both of the Actualize Longline Bra that were on sale, and I wore one for the first time today. Not only did I feel better while working out, I looked better too! Incredible. The leopard is still in stock in my size and on sale and I ordered two when I got home. These more expensive, better engineered bras are such a vast improvement on my Nordstrom Rack Clearance bras I’ve been wearing until now. Who would have thought that? Clearly not me. Anyway, the difference is so pronounced that I’m thinking of buying some full price. Shocking but true.
